Old Turtle is about Us - 

The Earthly realm of form intertwined with the dance of the ineffable Cosmos and the raw truth of Now.

Inspired by a short wisdom tale and beautifully illustrated book titled Old Turtle and the Broken Truth, I have chosen “Old Turtle” as a name that encompasses how I move through the world as an artist, and also as a support for others on their path to healing. 

 

The tale depicts a young girl that travels from the chaos of human destruction and Ego Imbalance, to the center of the world where she meets Old Turtle. On this journey, she is awakened to the notion that the humans only have one half of the Truth and that they have forgotten the language of the Earth. When she reaches Old Turtle, she is trusted with, and given, the other half of the Truth to take back to her people, which she does after a long journey of the heart, alongside the animals as her allies. What is brought back to the humans elucidates the ever-expanding range of love that we, ourselves, learn to Be and give to one another and to the Earth - including all the plants, rocks, animals, stars and beyond. 

 

As a Yoga Practitioner, a Vitalist Herbalist, a Bodyworker, and a Creative, I am not only inspired by this very fitting tale, but also reverently devoted to Turtle Medicine in the many forms it has presented itself to me.

 

Through my own personal journey, the Turtle breathes Yin, intuitive fluidity, strength, and balance. The embodiment involves slowing down, stillness, quietude, and expression of harmony in both the Underground Forest shadows and the light of Celestial Creation. The Turtle honors nature's innate intelligence and communes with the plants through Sacred presence and embodiment. In ritual, I reflect the wisdom of the Turtle and become your gentle support in healing.

 

All of my practices are rooted in love and ancient wisdom from the Earth. It is my greatest honor to create a container for each client to explore the entirety of their Being through Yin Yoga, Plant Communion, Vitalist Herbalism, and Re-Wilding.

 

In our work together, I walk with you through personalized variations of these modalities and offer my service in devotion to truth and wonder. Our work together is held in a container made to hold all of you. This container is a safe space for the root cause of any issues, imbalances, or blockages to be named and healed, making way for prosperous Vitality.

It is my calling to create intentional, ceremonial spaces for others to shift recurring patterns manifesting as dis-ease, awaken to their innate wisdom, and remember their wildness alongside me as teacher, ally, and bridge to the plant realm, a coming home to the Earth. 

 

Let us remember - we are physical bodies having a Human Experience, we are also energetic Beings having a Spiritual Experience. Plants, animals and beyond embody their own Spirits that interact with ours, whether we realize it or not. Just as our bodies carry infinite wisdom, so does all the rest. Just as our blood carries wisdom from our ancestors, so too does the Earth emanate wisdom from the Ancient Ones, the ancestors of the land and sky.

 

Join me on the path home and allow me to be a vessel of remembrance through these ancient practices. This work is patient and integrative, bringing in a powerful radiance through embodying all of who and what we are.

 

I am you and you are me. Everything is energy. The plants are our friends and family because of our inter-being. As said in the book, "I am loved and so are you." I look into your eyes, at the holiness of a tree, and I see myself. We are the little girl and we are Old Turtle.
